Overview

Performs shipping, receiving and/or distribution responsibilities ensuring that inventory is at adequate levels and shipped/transported to the designated area in order to meet daily production and delivery requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Performs inventory checks to determine adequacy of supply.

  • Meets production schedule and/or customer order and moves/picks orders accordingly. Communicates with other members regarding work / material flow.

  • Performs extra rework/sort operations to support other Manufacturing Departments.

  • Places rejected or damaged items in return to vendor area for disposition.

  • Knows and complies with ISO-9002/14001 requirements for designated work area.

  • Ensures that work area is clean and orderly and follows 6-S policy.

  • Monitors inbound shipments to ensure compliance with Customs, FTZ, and/or customer requirements.

  • Offloads pallets and/or boxes of materials from truck/carrier container using forklift or related material handling equipment to ensure it is damage-free.

  • Verifies all inbound materials to ensure accurate accountability. Compares information on Bill of Lading, DPS slips, packing lists, and purchase order information and/or bar code to verify accuracy of received materials.

  • Properly labels inbound shipments using receipt traveler label.

  • Performs timely and accurate sub-inventory transfers when needed.

  • Checks physical inventory quantity against Oracle quantity. Verifies part/product integrity and quantities to ensure proper availability of parts/products. Manually moves/removes pallets of parts, material, or product to continue parts supply to appropriate customer/department.

  • Monitors and responds to Material Ready Alarms in various locations throughout the plant.

  • Performs timely and accurate stocking of parts/materials/products with regard to proper store or system location.

  • Delivers pre-set material quantities in support of production requirements and/or to fulfill customer orders via established delivery mode (bin, rack, tow cart train, pallet jack, Forklift).

  • May performs start-up and/or shut-down of Robotic Delivery System (RDS) carts.

  • Enables/disables cart dispatches in a timely manner. Inputs dispatch schedules for daily line operations on all lines to ensure that parts delivery will be initiated by cart management system (CMS) at the appropriate times.

  • Makes minor adjustments (e.g., misaligned Automated Guided Cart, wrong location, etc.) to resume smooth and accurate RDS operation.

  • Loads/unloads RDSs and enters send-to location on RDS touch screen.

  • May be assigned additional duties and/or special projects

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with three months of receiving, distribution, shipping or related manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Must be able to read and follow work standards and complete check sheets, forms and logs.

  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification required.

  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures. Ability to use and operate basic computer programs.

  • May have to work overtime and may be assigned to other shifts based on company needs.
