Canon USA & Affiliates Logistics Specialist in Melville, New York

Overview

The Logistics Specialist (Specialist, Logistics) will be responsible for a certain region and distribution centers for daily exports. Will also be handling inquiries from business units/customers and will coordinate with internal and external parties to ensure timely shipments. This person may also be supporting various import / export compliance audits to maintain current compliance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare/coordinate daily export shipments including data entry, internal and external communications, and record keeping and filing

  • Communicate with external vendors and service providers, including trucking companies

  • Prepare export invoices and file AES (Automated Export System) as required

  • Summarize and prepare reports as required

  • Track trends and make recommendations for efficiency purposes

  • Communicate effectively with all parties

  • Audit and approve invoices from service providers

  • Perform administrative duties as required

  • May support various import / export compliance audits

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is required.

  • 3 - 5 years of relevant work experience is required: export operations and documentation

  • Must possess strong organizational, written, analytical, administrative and interpersonal skills

  • Strong knowledge of Excel,Powerpointt, Word and other related software

  • Import experience is a plus
